The organizing committee of the Göran Schildt regatta decided that the next GS Regatta will take place one week later than normally ie. between September 25th and 28th. We plan for a three day event. After the 2018 regatta with 22 boats from seven countries it was clear that piggybacking on the Swedish SRS rule and extrapolating across it and across ORC to establish handicaps had reached the end of its usefulness. The organizing committee of the Göran Schildt regatta decided on 26 of July to cancel the regatta in September 2020. The decision was made taken into account the risks related to the Covid–19 and the specific rules with set by the authorities to organize regattas in Greece this year.

There are nine Optimist dinghy sailboats and two Laser class sailboats ready to be put on water at the Leros Nautical Club. Two more Laser boats are ordered. Alexis Charlampides, his son Yorgos and Christine Schildt have been busy to equip the boats before season. The Nautical club will organise training for youth interested to learn to sail this summer and is also open for partners to arrange courses in their facilities.
